About Us
Welcome!
We are William and Matthew Orr, two brothers from Texas!
We are both Highschool students who love the outdoors and paddling. Growing up, we were always taught the balance of working hard and playing hard. Thanks to our Mom, we literally held a paddle before we could walk. Growing up in canoes we developed a love for rivers and competitive paddle sports. We look forward to pushing ourselves to new levels in 2025, and plan to enter in new races across the country to gain better experience and witness tougher competition.
Meet The Team

Paddler
William
I am a sophomore in high school who works studies hard to keep maintain straight A's with the goal of getting into Texas A&M University, and becoming a member of the Corps of Cadets. I work twice a week as a ranch hand for an older Texas Water Safari legend. I spend most of my time working and playing outside. I achieved my goal of being the first mother/son team
ever to complete and finish the Texas Water Safari in 2022. I exceeded the my goal by finishing 9th place overall, first mixed, and first parent/child. My new goal is to compete in the Au Sable River Marathon, where I hope to finish and see how my talents compare to others in the Rookie Class.

Support Crew
Mom - Holly
Our mom has been in it from the beginning, she taught us how to hold a paddle and sit upright in a boat. We are so thankful for her support and encouragement long the way. She is our biggest fan.

Cheerleader
Sister Katelyn

Paddler
Matthew
I am a freshman in high school, who likes being outside and working with my hands. I currently work one day a week learning the construction trade and welding. My personal goals this year are to finish school with all A's and compete (and finish) in my first Texas Water Safari. I also plan to enter and finish my first Au Sable River Marathon with my brother William. I have high goals in each race and hope to win the parent/child class in the Safari and win the Rookie class in the Au Sable.

Coaches and Mentors
We are so grateful for all the support everybody has given us. A big shout out to Chris and Shannon Issendorf and Paddle With Style for helping us get onto a good training schedule, finding us a boat, and giving us lots of pointers and lessons. We couldn't do it without our coaches, training buddies, and bank support. Thank you all so much!

Mascot
Chip Dog
Katelyn, 11 years old, attends most of our races and loves to cheer us on. She is just now showing interest in racing too!
Everyone needs a good dog.
Chip loves to go to the river with us.
If he is on a canoe trip and wants out of the boat, he will put his paw on the gunwales, and tilt his head as a way of asking permission. If we say no, he will sulk. If we say yes he will jump out and run along the bank while we paddle.
